Organization Information
The main purpose of this Center is as much to promote investment in the commercialization of the ocean thermal energy conversion technology, as to undertake its further development, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. While continuing its promotion for investment in OTEC, UTM Ocean Thermal Energy Center managed to secure a number of research and study grants; both locally and internationally. This institute is part of the Univerisiti Teknologi Malaysa (UTM: University of Technology Malaysia) and maintains research on a variety of Ocean Energies including OTEC and related technologies.
