Types of Membership
There are two basic membership types: “Member” and “Observer.” Please indicate your preference during registration. Members will be able to vote for delegates. Observers will have access to information, but be unable to vote or participate in elections. Please note that observers will be able to change to regular members in the future, but only with approval of the Executive Committee. Currently, membership is individual, though organizations may register as observers. Members must indicate a country or region of residence during registration as part of the delegate selection system.
Going Forward
The Ocean Thermal Energy Association (OTEA) was formally established in October 2020 as a voluntary organization to begin, guided by bylaws that were adopted by the Executive Committee at their first meeting. The first full meeting of the OTEA is expected to take place alongside the 8th International OTEC Symposium (online).
